The World Crafts Council Europe (WCCE) organized its annual conference for Thursday 20th June of 2024 at 9.00 AM. It will take place in Barcelona, Spain and it will be co-hosted by the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion (CCAM). Participation is free and people can attend either in person or online via live stream. Pre-registration is required to attend either in-person or online. The conference will be held in English and on site simultaneously translated to Catalan.
The title of the 2024 annual conference is State of Crafts: Key Pillars in the Contemporary Craft Sector. The meeting will be open by Roger Torrent, Minister of Business and Work of Catalonia, and includes the participation of more than 30 craft organizations across Europe and a great programme of speakers, with the aim to create a public discussion on the importance of crafts in the Old Continent. This year’s theme focuses on highlighting key issues in European crafts today. It explores what other sectors and society can learn from crafts, shares positive stories to attract a wider audience, and emphasizes important topics like sustainability, entrepreneurship, knowledge sharing, heritage, and aesthetics in the craft world.
