From 6 to 11 April 2021, the European Artistic Crafts Days (EACD) are back! Conceived in France on the initiative of the INMA-Institut National des Metiers d’Art in Paris, the European Days of Art Professions are dedicated each year to a specific theme. For the 2021 edition, the focus is: “Materials at work”. Now the event is organized simultaneously in various European countries to attract the attention of the general public to craftsmanship and craft professions. The intention is to focus on the great variety of materials, recognizing their value not only as resources used for the creations of artistic craftsmanship but also as a cultural and economic heritage.
For this year Artex proposes the “Dialogues on Craft”, in Italian “Dialoghi sull’Artigianato“: 6 virtual meetings in live streaming on Facebook and YouTube, with the aim of relating master craftsmen and experts, leading the world of culture, to reflect together on the concept of matter and the artisan know-how that transforms it.
The dialogues will focus on materials such as ceramics, wood, marble, papier-mâché, silver, and fabric; will be presented through the stories of some of the most successful master craftsmen of Tuscany. Each dialogue will be enriched by the wise and expert presence of professionals such as gallery owners and art critics, museum directors, art historians, and other leading figures from the world of culture and artistic craftsmanship. All moderated by the Artex team.
The appointment to discover and get to know the Tuscan master craftsmen and follow their story on current events, the future and the tradition of the craft they carry on is each day from 6 to 11 April 2021, 5:00 pm (GMT+2) on the Artex Facebook page @artex.artigianato.artistico. Each talk will be held in Italian language.
