Rings in Water 2026 | International competition for craft – oriented design

The “𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫” competition initiates and supports the 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭. It develops a dialogue about traditional values, how they are safeguarded and how they appear in contemporary craft, applied art and design. 

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 who find inspiration for their work in traditional craft, in their method of work or in the object’s original practical, aesthetic value and function. 

Works of applied art, design or artistic craft made using final materials such as 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞, 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬, 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 will be accepted, as well as free works with experimental or environmental relevance.
