DCCI’s Future Makers Awards & Supports 2020 – Deadline Extension

Applications are now open for Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s (DCCI) Future Makers Awards & Supports programme for 2020. With a total fund of €25,000 this year and 28 prizes available, the programme is one of Europe’s largest prize-funded awards for emerging makers. The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday, 30th September 2020. Entry is free and all applications must be submitted online at futuremakers.ie.

DCCI’s Future Makers programme rewards excellence in both making and the creative process. Divided into emerging practitioner and student/recent graduate categories, it covers a broad range of disciplines, including fashion/textile design, ceramics, furniture design, jewellery design, glass artistry and mixed media construction.

Note re eligibility (full terms & conditions are here):

An emerging practitioner is someone who has:

• Set up a craft/design enterprise in the past 6 years
• Graduated from a craft/design course in the past 2-6 years
• Currently in full-time postgraduate studies in a craft design discipline

A student/recent graduate is someone who is:

• Currently studying, training or undertaking an apprenticeship full-time in a design- or craft-based discipline
• OR be one year graduated from full-time study in a design- or craft-based discipline
