Crafts Council are launching their new programme for makers: Crafting Business.

Deadline for applications is 31 March 2021.

For those of you familiar with Hothouse, Crafting Business is based on this learning framework.

What is different?

1. We are providing short bookable advice sessions during the application stage, to help those who struggle with applications.
2. There is no fee to apply.
3. There is no fee to take part.
4. For the first time, we are open to applicants from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales as well as England.
5. We are prioritising business first and craft second in the recruitment.
6. We are partnering the Design Trust, where each of our participants will receive a copy of Dream Plan Do.
7. Marketing will not be part of the core programme.  Marketing is a challenge facing all makers, therefore we are offering this to the wider sector through seminar series this summer.
8. Mentoring (1:1 support) will be with the programme lead and a programme trainer of their choice, providing additional support that participants need.

9. Peer to peer support network.
10. Gaining valuable business skills through proven training methods.
11. Create an all-important business plan.
12. Increasing confidence to build and grow a craft business.
13. Participants will be profiled through Crafts Council’s networks.
14. Becoming part of the Crafts Council Alumni community.
