We launched Crafting Europe in a pre-COVID-19 world but the pandemic soon impacted on our plans and activity. Across Europe and the rest of the world, the pandemic restrictions mean that we have all had to adapt and respond in different ways. We know that this period of uncertainty and lockdown has been extremely challenging to the crafts sector.
Our top priority is to support makers and crafts people across Europe. The Crafting Europe project aims to promote awareness of the sector and its values, especially during this difficult time. During the lockdown, we had to postpone our open call and other activities that were due to take place.
Some elements of our project will need be adapted in line with the advice and policy of the World Health Organisation (WHO). However, we will continue to deliver our Crafting Europe activities in new and creative ways, and to ensure that the project has a positive impact on the sector.
We will continue to keep you updated on the project. You will find all the opportunities for each country on the website here. You can also stay in touch with us by checking out the newsfeed here and following the #craftingeurope hashtag.
Let’s stay safe and digitally connected until we see each other again soon. We can craft the future of Europe together!
