MEET THE MAKER
I am Tsiala (Tsio) Gigauri, a master of handmade jewelry and applied arts, a member of the Artists’ Union. Making jewelry is a family tradition and I try not to lose the handiwork of my grandfather and continue the work of my ancestors. Currently I live in Georgia, a country full of great and rich art history. Georgia has a diverse culture, namely, my ancestors were born in Khevsureti in the Caucasus Mountains where they created amazing clothes and jewelry with different ornaments typical for that part of Georgia. As a result, it has a huge influence on my work that inspires me to create unique and different creations in a unique way. I started working on enamel a few years ago. At first I tried to make jewelry, but after a while it became clearer that it was my passion. I consider myself a happy person because I share my love for this work with others who admire this direction of art. I always put an important part of me and huge love into my work, which reflects each of my emotions, I also try to incorporate portraits and paintings of famous people or artists in my work. Besides, I can make exotic jewelry according to the customer’s desire. Main technique of creating my work is using a traditional timeless style that is blended with the modern style, it makes my creations as an unusual design and elegance that I hope everyone will like.My wares can be worn during the day or it can reveal an evening dress with its distinct and peculiar look.
