NAME: Deborah Miranda Roldan FROM: Mexico
PROFESSION: Multimedia Professional BUSINESS/COMPANY/PRACTICE NAME:
I am a multimedia editor with a decade of wide-ranging experience in film, TV advertising, social video and digital content production.
Originally from Mexico City, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Communications and specialized in Film Production. In Mexico I worked as audiovisual producer for several digital marketing agencies and production companies focusing on video editing and motion graphics. I helped to redesign multinational brands such as Fanta and Sprite. I have also worked across the public and private sector organizing film screens, workshops and cultural events.
In 2020 I completed a Master’s degree in Digital Media at the National University of Ireland, Galway, in which I had the opportunity to improve my digital design skills. I have an special interest in street art so for my final project I developed a digital tour of Galway City which aimed to work as an scav- engers hunt while exploring the possibilities of mixing digital and traditional techniques.
Currently I work for the UN Migration Agency (IOM), as Head of Communications for the Irish Mis- sion. As part of my job I am in charge of developing different materials such as social videos, info- graphics, logos and other graphic materials.
I recently started exploring other interests such as watercolour painting and crocheting. One of the main reasons for me to apply for this programme is to transfer some of my digital skills into tangible projects. I would be very interested in working on a project that combines digital designs, crafts and street art.
