My name is Cristina Romero and, although I was born in Barcelona, for 2 years I have lived in the city of A Coruña, Galicia. As a polyhedral professional, I encompass all my projects under the pseudonym “tina roco”. Out of the which, the most artisan project ORIKATIE. I created ORIKATIE 5 years ago and, after 3 years of activity, I stopped him in a need to delve into some knowledge and to clarify certain doubts regarding the essence of the product and the brand.
Although an architect by training, it is at work with hands where I have felt comfortable and happy all my lifetime. In this sense, in an exploration and investigation constantly, and in a self-taught way, I imagined and designed ORIKATIE, a mixture of the traditional Japanese technique of orikata fold and the feminization of the tie.
Project and design are defined from the control of the geometry and detail. Each orikatie is built always based on a specific combination of folds, as if really from an orikata game were treated. And it is in the result of its specific geometry (in its shape, curve, and dimension) which are established possibilities. Thus, transforming only through the fold, I found the right and appropriate measure and the I turned into “neck, necklace, choker, headdress, bracelet” or as much as the creative mind of its user wants to imagine.
My business objectives are:
My business objective is to get a business seductive and 100% profitable.
With my business idea I hope to get an extra within my polyhedral projects knowing that, without having to give up the other projects, each of them is 100% profitable and complementary to others.
My learnings from the Crafting Business Programme:
I have learned the tools to visualize, and from this way to be able to foresee the profitability of my business, in addition to emphasizing the added value of my project handcrafted. With what I have gained in security and autonomy.
That, although they are not standardized, all imaginable business models are viable if we manage to make them profitable.
On the one hand, at the level of social networks, I have given ORIKATIE your own independent instagram profile for greater clarity and reception of the message on my clients.
On the other hand, and thanks to the development section of product of the course, I have realized the potential that Today you already have my product in terms of sustainability and the many possibilities that still remain to be investigated and exploited in this sense to get a brand with a sustainable model coherent and radical.
My 5 top tips that I have learnt on this journey:
