MEET THE MAKER
Since 1932 the Fornace Masini has been making handcrafted terracotta in Impruneta. All the processing is completely handcrafted respecting the ancient techniques and traditions. We work both B2B and B2C, 90% export. It is essential to make the final consumer perceive the concept of an artisanal product in all its nuances, even in what appears at first sight to be a product defect. I have a degree in communication and a master in entrepreneurship and business strategy to be able to insert a historical company in the contemporary age. We are currently experiencing a re-start-up phase despite the fact that the company is almost 100 years old. We are organizing ourselves to be able to meet the needs of this era, starting with important digital investments.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE PART OF CRAFTING BUSINESS PROGRAMME?
I think it is necessary to keep up with the times and I believe that the course can help us to compare ourselves and take inspiration for the future, even from different sectors. It could also be interesting to learn about other realities and their business strategies. Last but not least, of course, networking opportunities.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEEDBACKS?
Very interesting course, valid teachers and full of food for thought. Unfortunately I was not able to follow all the lessons but luckily the material is available and can be consulted. Should there be another similar course, I would gladly follow it. Honestly, having a master in entrepreneurship and business strategy in the approach to work and in the idea of an artisan business, nothing has changed. What was very useful, however, were the testimonies of the teachers and food for thought.
