Meet the Maker

CeramicArt consists of us – two ceramist-designers – Ana Japaridze and Nino Kopaladze. We share a mutual artistic vision and at the same time provide each other with diverse ideas that always inspired and pushed us to create a shared craftwork. That is why we came to conclusion to establish CeramicArt studio.

We studied traditional ceramic design at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, which gave us artistic freedom to express ourselves in ceramics, however it is a constant quest for innovation and reinterpretations of both form and color. One of our highlight projects is Illusion of Nature, where we used a projector to convey color that made the product dynamic and chromatic. Main characteristics of our craftwork is unity, which consists of little segments.

Our appreciation of innovation leads us to various types of ceramics, both functional/creative and relatively large size products, which is particularly appealing for us. We react to the environment, which resembles a game.

Why did you decide to take part of crafting business programme?

We come from artistic field and it happens that a lot of the questions come up concerning finances, taxes, photographing, export and many more. It is challenging to seek answers to these questions and get them from the professional particularly from crafts sector. Crafting Business Program covered all of the above.

We are more than happy that we had an opportunity to take part in the program.

What are your feedback?

Crafting Business Program consisted of important topics, especially concentrating on business field. We had to analyze the directions of our business and what niche we would like to take up in the market. It is important that we transformed our creative idea into a commercial affair.
