MEET THE MAKER
Hartsuyker Industrial Design was founded in 1995 by Aram Hartsuyker. For the first 10 years he worked simultaneously as a designer at two renowned design agencies. Initially, Hartsuyker focused on the development of 3D products, from unique items to series of thousands of items. Later on, office design was added and various projects were successfully completed in this area. In 2006, Aram Hartsuyker started working as a lighting architect for a company active in the field of public lighting. There he designed – often commissioned by municipalities throughout the Netherlands – lighting for special objects in public space. In 2019 he switched successively to two different companies for the development of specific (outdoor) luminaires, commissioned by architects, landscape architects, light designers and artists, among others. For Hartsuyker Industrial Design, manufacturability and the production process are inseparable parts of the design process.
Project
A horse saddle that adapts to the horse’s body and communicates with its rider through sensor technology and an app: it sounds futuristic, but according to Bianca Koevoets, Aram Hartsuyker and Marius Stanasel, it could soon be reality.
Value iAtelier
Using smart saddles enables riders to enhance their experience, and that of their horse while riding. Collecting riding data ensures the wellbeing of both parties as the saddle can be customized and optimized for individual experience and in this way also enhances the connection between man and animal.
