MEET THE MAKER
I define myself as a surface designer: in recent years, I focused mostly on the study of surfaces and their application on the surface coating of furnishing objects. I employ contemporary materials, such as micro cement and resin, or lime, to impress textures and prints. I am primarily inspired by nature. I borrow some ancient techniques from the restoration in order to create antique patinas and metallic corrosions. I love surfaces because they introduce the substance as a manifestation of the possible. Leather is one of the main tools to communicate his own being externally: it can be the medium to transmit emotions, to send messages, to describe personal characteristics. Both in a human body and in a design object, the external coating has not only a protection function, but it has the opportunity to communicate the beauty and the harmony, to enhance the intrinsic qualities of the product and the object.

All the “Expert Talks” were really fascinating, they enriched my knowledge: I particularly appreciated the one by Riccardo Marchesi about technology fabrics and sensors because it instilled new ideas in me. I wish that new collaboration and interesting forums could emerge from the meetings with other professionals and designers that I could make during this experience.
5 things that I’ll bring with me from this experience:
