MEET THE MAKER

I’m an independent designer-maker from Barcelona, based in London. Before being selected for this programe, I was selling some of my designs while working part-time for other makers/artist in a market, as well as studying. With my work I try to find ways of re-connecting with our physical surroundings through the design of playful objects. As play is a vehicle for connection, I believe such objects can make us better appreciate the real world. I applied for the i-Atelier programme to direct my business into what I decribe as modern crafts, which go together with technology. Manual or skilled work brings patience, reflection and physical connection into my practice, and technology, new paths and methods.

What is your feedback on the Programme?

It has been great experience. Talks were very inspirational and the level of the speakers very high. It was difficult for me to assist all the talks and meetings as these were on work-time hours and I´m not self-employed (I work for a company). Collaborating remotely with other designers wasn´t easy either.
