Project title: 3.3D BAG
Authors: Isabel Aldim and Maria Pereira
Nowadays, many people go shopping with Tote bags or even wear them as a purse. They are practical, lightweight and youthful, but they all look alike.
The aim was to create a bag with those features with different shapes – more feminine, pure and beautiful to be felt not as an accessory but almost like a clothe /confortable mean of carrying personal belongings.
The use of technology available in FabLabs was the path to explore the new idea, 3.3D BAG is a multidimensional purse made of laser cutted fabric with 3D printed elements (cubes – 2D drawings representing 3D shapes) allowing to have a 3D fabric by printing PLA over stretched elastic fabric. The silkscreen printing is a soft visual effect that adds some texture to the flat fabric area also representing the segments that allow the cubes construction.
